Senior Liferay Developer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Liferay Developer to oversee and manage the OpenText Liferay Platform alongside its components. This role involves high-level administration, implementation, and support of Liferay platforms and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the management and administration of OpenText Liferay Platform and its components.
• Install key software including CARS, OTDS (OpenText Directory Services), and the Liferay Platform.
• Configure system settings and perform backup and restoration tasks on the Liferay Platform.
• Create and assign user roles and teams within the platform.
• Implement and test web services and service-oriented architecture grids on Liferay.
• Analyze system logs using Liferay's logging framework to diagnose issues.
• Troubleshoot business processes with the Process Instance Manager tool.
• Integrate OTDS with the Liferay Platform and manage users via identity packages.
• Deploy and launch applications on the Liferay Platform ensuring smooth operation.
• Provide support to end-users, resolving any implementation-related challenges.
• Assemble entity hierarchies, establish relationships between entities, and deploy entity-based solutions.
• Wrap entities as web services and build user interfaces comprising lists, forms, and layouts.
• Design and develop Java-based applications aligned with project objectives.
• Interpret requirements accurately to produce high-quality, testable, and scalable code.
• Collaborate with internal teams on design and implementation of application functions.
• Identify and resolve immediate and potential application issues.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on projects and tasks completed.
• Support fellow developers by assisting with debugging, troubleshooting, and coding efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline is required.
• Coding certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 to 8 years' experience in Java-based programming is essential.
