Role Overview
As part of the Products & Regulatory Legal Group, you will collaborate extensively with engineering, operations, government affairs, marketing, and other legal teams to provide legal counsel on complex regulatory issues. Your main focus will be on evaluating the applicability of a variety of regulations, predominantly within the EMEIA region. Key legislation includes the Data Act, AI Act, Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), NIS 2, Digital Fairness Act (DFA), and Digital Networks Act (DNA).
You will both coordinate and sometimes lead interactions with regulatory authorities across different technological domains. The position requires innovative thinking and versatility, offering legal insight into emerging regulations. Strong collaboration with internal legal, government, business, and engineering teams is fundamental. You will also advise senior management on risk mitigation, business strategies, and policy formation.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of regulatory requirements affecting Apple’s products and services, especially within the EMEIA region.
- Engage and sometimes lead communications with external regulatory bodies concerning technological and digital regulation matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, government affairs, and legal departments to navigate regulatory landscapes effectively.
- Offer strategic counsel to Apple management on risk evaluation, regulatory compliance, and business policy decisions.
Requirements
- At least 5 to 8 years of experience dealing with regulatory issues, such as EU privacy and data protection laws, artificial intelligence legislation, cybersecurity regulations, and other digital policies.
- Professional background working at a major law firm, in-house legal team, or regulatory authority.
- Exceptional communication skills to confidently advise senior leadership and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical capabilities combined with business acumen to resolve complex legal challenges innovatively.
- Ability to foster collaboration by establishing effective working relationships with legal and cross-disciplinary partners.
- Self-driven with a curiosity for technology and thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Excellent organizational aptitude to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
