As the company expands its presence in Europe, it is looking to add a seasoned Senior Commercial Counsel to its legal team to support its EU growth.

Role Overview

The Senior Commercial Counsel will act as a strategic legal advisor to Arista's business units in Europe and globally. This position demands a commercially savvy attorney experienced in structuring and negotiating intricate agreements while working alongside diverse, cross-functional teams in a dynamic international setting.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating diverse commercial agreements such as customer sales contracts, channel partner arrangements, procurement contracts, and technology licensing deals.
  • Providing expert advice to business teams regarding EU and member-state regulations, GDPR compliance, export control laws, and anti-bribery/anti-corruption policies.
  • Spotting and evaluating legal risks, suggesting practical remedies, and overseeing external legal counsel in dispute resolution and specialized matters.
  • Partnering with senior leadership to craft internal procedures and templates aimed at boosting efficiency and promoting compliance awareness.

Requirements

  • Possession of a law degree and licensure to practice in at least one EU jurisdiction.
  • Over 10 years of legal experience, including training at a reputable international law firm and experience as an in-house counsel at a multinational company.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Proven expertise in advising on commercial transactions, international contract law, and cross-border legal challenges.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, juggle multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively across different regions and business functions.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in German (both written and spoken) with background negotiating contracts governed by German law.
  • Preferred: Experience in technology, telecommunications, or innovation-driven industries with strong knowledge of intellectual property rights.
