Job Overview

This position belongs to the Business or Office Systems Group, consisting of Systems Analysts focused on evaluating business needs to diagnose problems and propose effective solutions. The role acts as a mediator among stakeholders to gather, analyze, convey, and validate requirements for modifications to business processes, policies, and IT systems.

The Senior IT Business Analyst is expected to manage internal IT projects and contribute significantly to major IT initiatives, ensuring adherence to standards in Project Management, Change Management, documentation, training, and project quality. They must ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.

Following established software operations and development methodologies is essential. The analyst reviews and approves system specifications, programming, and technical analyses created by their team and takes responsibility for their team's project timelines. Additionally, they translate business requirements into detailed project plans and provide functional and technical support as needed.

Coordination with junior staff on special projects and other functional or technical support tasks is required. Compliance with QAFCO's policies on Occupational Health, Quality, Safety, and Environment is mandatory. Delivering customer satisfaction with timely and analytical responses to system and application issues is a key focus.

Primary Duties

  • Develop and oversee implementation of IT related policies, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Lead or advise users in identifying and documenting business requirements or issues to improve or automate existing systems and processes.
  • Translate business needs and project details into process diagrams that outline workflows and expected outputs in collaboration with end-users.
  • Configure and maintain IT systems/software to meet end-user requirements efficiently.
  • Supervise programming tasks to ensure compliance with methodologies and standards.
  • Oversee unit and regression testing performed by the team to detect and eliminate errors, ensuring conformity with business needs and securing user acceptance approvals.
  • Contribute to selecting new software, third-party products, and applications; perform technical evaluations and advocate appropriate system solutions.
  • Diagnose root causes of technical issues and system failures, and participate in creating corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay informed on new developments by reviewing relevant publications and propose innovative solutions or programs to satisfy user needs.
  • Carry out additional duties assigned by the Head of Section to support the achievement of group objectives.
  • Conduct research into technical and functional options, products, and alternatives, making suitable recommendations.
  • Ensure optimal support is provided for operational issues.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements of information systems.
  • Participate in practical training of interns and newly onboarded staff to build their competency in assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Between 5 and 8 years of relevant, hands-on experience.
  • Working knowledge and experience with various SAP modules, preferably SAP S4/HANA.
