- Perform reconciliations between physical inventory counts, warehouse management systems, sub-ledger data, and ERP financial records, proactively identifying and addressing any inconsistencies.
- Lead and optimize regular cycle counts and coordinate yearly inventory verifications with operational teams and external auditors.
- Oversee inventory costing strategies like standard costing, FIFO, or average costing methods and offer suggestions to enhance margin outcomes.
- Support finalization of monthly and yearly financial close processes, ensuring timely resolution of inventory-related cut-off and reporting matters.
- Act as the main liaison for inventory audits by compiling comprehensive documentation and managing external auditor interactions.
- Design, assess, and refine internal controls and financial workflows to boost operational effectiveness, minimize risks, and enhance governance standards.
Core Requirements
- Hold a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent credential.
- Demonstrate solid experience in inventory accounting within sectors like manufacturing, retail, distribution, or similarly intricate operational environments.
- Possess deep knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP requirements concerning inventory valuation, notably IAS 2 standards.
- Have proven expertise managing comprehensive inventory accounting processes, including provisioning for slow-moving stock, purchase price variance assessments, costing methodologies, and reconciliations across multiple locations.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or their equivalents.
- Strong data analysis and Excel skills, capable of handling extensive and complex datasets effectively.
- Excellent communication aptitude, enabling clear financial information delivery to cross-functional teams including operations, procurement, and logistics.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet stringent reporting deadlines with high-quality results.
- Additional experience with ERP rollouts, automation, robotic process automation (RPA), VBA, Python scripting, multi-entity accounting environments, foreign exchange accounting, or process optimization is advantageous.
Benefits
- Attractive remuneration package combined with participation in a virtual stock option plan (VSOP).
- Relocation assistance covering financial support and temporary housing arrangements.
- Annual budget allocated for learning and professional development.
- Comprehensive health and wellness offerings, including gym membership subsidies and mental health support resources.
- Regular company gatherings and monthly social event allowances.
- Enhanced parental leave policies with fully paid leave options for both primary and secondary caregivers.
- Family-oriented policies offering paid emergency leave and flexible remote work during pregnancy and return-to-work phases.
- Work within an innovative, mission-driven organization that encourages ownership and impactful contributions.
