Job description
Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Internal Auditor to join our Group Internal Audit team in Doha, Qatar, focusing primarily on hospitality and food & beverage (F&B) operations. This role directly reports to the Internal Audit Manager and involves auditing a wide range of hospitality businesses including multi-outlet F&B settings, hotels, and guest services.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct risk-focused internal audits adhering to the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) of the IIA.
- Evaluate controls over F&B cost controls, inventory oversight, procurement processes, revenue assurances, cash handling procedures, outlet operations, and compliance with franchise or brand standards.
- Detect weaknesses in controls, identify opportunities of revenue loss, and note deviations from policies within hospitality operations.
- Develop and implement Risk Control Matrices (RCMs) assessing both design and operational effectiveness.
- Carry out audit fieldwork, collect and document audit evidence comprehensively.
- Prepare audit finding reports with actionable, risk-based recommendations.
- Collaborate with operations and finance stakeholders to review findings and finalize remedial action plans.
- Track audit findings progress until full remediation is achieved.
- Assist in audit planning, risk evaluation, and defining audit scopes for engagements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or related disciplines.
- Professional certifications like CIA, CPA, CFE, or similar qualifications are preferred or currently being pursued.
- At least 6 to 8 years of experience in internal audit roles, with exposure to hospitality sectors including hotels or F&B operations.
- In-depth knowledge of hospitality-related risk domains such as F&B cost controls, revenue assurance strategies, inventory losses, cash management, and managing multiple outlets.
- Experience auditing hotel chains, franchise setups, or multi-unit F&B enterprises is highly valued.
- Excellent skills in audit fieldwork, record-keeping, and preparing formal audit reports.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with operations, finance teams, and management.
- Proficiency in risk-based audit approaches aligned with IIA’s IPPF.
- Residency in Doha or willingness to relocate to Qatar.
