  • Apply expertise across standard and unique project challenges.
  • Prepare detailed design calculations, analysis, reports, and procedural documentation.
  • Manage tasks efficiently to meet deadlines and budgets, planning short-term activities accordingly.
  • Communicate complex technical matters clearly to ensure mutual understanding across teams.

Detailed Duties

  • Fully understand project scope, specifications, schedules, and multidisciplinary requirements, identifying and addressing concerns proactively.
  • Identify scope changes promptly, raise change notifications with proper documentation and estimations, and support variation orders.
  • Collaborate closely with other disciplines to create clash-free designs and integrate inputs from adjacent departments.
  • Maintain coordination with planning, fabrication, project management teams, and keep thorough records of significant communications.
  • Assist bid preparations by providing technical reviews, execution plans, and manpower estimates.
  • Raise technical queries to clarify scope and ensure adherence to client procedures and standards.
  • Develop design bases, philosophies, and technical specifications for the discipline.
  • Participate in finalizing deliverables and ensure they meet specifications and functional requirements.
  • Engage in project, vendor, and engineering meetings, including offshore site surveys as necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance and review work produced by designers within Instrumentation & Controls engineering.
  • Assist procurement teams in acquiring equipment and materials, including reviewing requisitions, technical bids, and vendor documents.
  • Update project weight reports and verify engineering output within the discipline.
  • Review vendor/subcontractor submissions for compliance and perform design verifications and inter-discipline checks.
  • Support fabrication teams by addressing technical queries and identifying rectification needs.
  • Keep management informed about ongoing activities, issues, and resource matters.
  • Provide inputs for progress, planning, and productivity reports.
  • Review final data from subcontractors and vendors to ensure completeness and approval.
  • Participate in technical audits conducted internally, by customers, and third parties.
  • Support responses to customer and certifying authority reviews and approvals.
  • Document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers, guiding them on procedures, standards, software, and technical evaluations.
  • Maintain cost awareness related to personal and discipline work.
  • Prepare and review automation system definitions, philosophies, specifications, and system architectures, including safety and fire & gas logic diagrams.
  • Compile and revise equipment specifications, datasheets, and spare parts lists.
  • Provide inputs for P&ID development and review equipment testing procedures and Factory Acceptance Tests as necessary.
  • Assist in closing out HAZOP action items.

Lead Engineer Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering efforts on small projects or act as area lead or deputy lead.
  • Oversee all engineering work, manage resources, and coordinate closely with area leads and project management.
  • Assist project managers by managing deliverables, scheduling, reporting, and estimating man-hours and capital expenditure.
  • Ensure proper documentation and provide feedback to department management.

Additional Expectations
