Senior Institutional Investment Operations Specialist - Xceptor Expert

Overview

Wells Fargo is searching for a Senior Specialist in Institutional Investment Operations to enhance operational efficiency, drive digital transformation, and automate workflows intelligently within Institutional Investment Banking Operations. This position requires combining extensive operations expertise with solid practical experience in ETL, analytics platforms, Microsoft Power Platform, and applied AI techniques to develop scalable, compliant, and value-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the comprehensive lifecycle support of Institutional Investment Banking Operations including trade processing, settlements, funding, custody services, asset servicing, and reconciliation tasks.
• Lead operational transformation initiatives by utilizing ETL and automation technologies such as Alteryx, Xceptor, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
• Design and maintain data pipelines and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, and enterprise-level data tools to deliver insightful analytics.
• Leverage AI and advanced analytics, including intelligent document processing, predictive analytics, and anomaly detection, to boost accuracy and operational risk management.
• Manage critical functions like client onboarding, cash and payment handling, securities settlement, custodial services, structured product operations, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Champion or contribute to complex, multi-disciplinary projects engaging operations, technology, risk, and compliance teams.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement process optimizations and improvements to controls, promoting straight-through processing.
• Provide leadership in overseeing considerable efficiency, transformation, and automation endeavors.
• Conduct detailed reviews of operational workflows, data transfers, and control frameworks requiring deep technical evaluation.
• Resolve complex operational, technological, or data-related challenges independently.
• Lead senior-level projects both within the company and across broader industry initiatives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Business areas to meet strategic goals.
• Mentor and develop junior analysts, fostering a culture centered on automation and analytics excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of experience in Institutional Investment Operations or equivalent through various professional or educational backgrounds.
• Preferred experience includes Investment Banking or Capital Markets Operations, with advanced proficiency in Alteryx, Xceptor, Tableau, Power BI, and the Power Platform.
• Experience in applying AI/ML or intelligent automation techniques within operational settings.
• Proven track record in leading operational transformation, process re-engineering, or automation projects.
• Practical and leadership experience in ETL and workflow automation.
• Strong knowledge of operational risk management, regulatory compliance (including SOX), audit processes, and control frameworks.
• Demonstrated capability in managing large transformation or cost-saving programs.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder relationship management, communication, and delivering executive presentations.
• Experience mentoring teams and establishing analytics or automation competencies.
