About the company
SSMC (Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Company Pte. Ltd.) is a semiconductor manufacturing joint venture backed by NXP and TSMC. The company provides practical, cost-efficient wafer fabrication solutions supported by a fully equipped SMIF cleanroom, complete equipment automation, and established wafer manufacturing processes.
The team is looking for an innovative, motivated, and capable Senior Industrial Engineer to join its Industrial Engineer Department.
Key responsibilities
- Keep capacity planning methods current and accurate, and continuously refine them where needed.
- Work toward the required product mix and capacity goals by improving equipment utilization, supporting tool conversion efforts, and executing other capacity enhancement plans aligned with operational targets.
- Develop layout plans for production equipment according to operational requirements.
- Make sure equipment installation and release are completed on time so production schedules are supported.
- Drive Tool-to-Tool Matching initiatives, including Golden/Lemon comparisons, and apply Best-in-Class benchmarking to improve tool performance.
- Maintain the tool capacity and productivity database used for capacity planning and productivity index tracking.
- Oversee capital budgeting to capture equipment needs for capacity mix changes and the introduction of new technologies.
- Build and maintain standard costing approaches, including weekly, quarterly, and annual costing exercises.
- Handle cost analysis and control work such as forecasting, tracking, improvement initiatives, modelling, analysis, and benchmarking.
- Coordinate and improve people productivity efforts.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives and sharing of Best-Known Methods.
- Contribute to strategic plans for capacity growth, tool and manpower productivity improvement, and cost reduction.
- Lead or coordinate automation and workforce productivity initiatives, including headcount modelling.
- Support Business Continuity Management and risk assessment activities.
- Improve existing systems and strengthen methods and modelling approaches.
- Coach, mentor, and train new Engineers and Associate Engineers.
Candidate profile
- A degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing is required.
- Applicants should have functional and technical knowledge of semiconductor processes and the industrial engineering tools used in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, MS Access, VBA, SQL, Oracle, Cognos, and AutoCAD is expected.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities are important for this role.
- The ideal candidate should work well in a team and bring strong problem-solving skills.
