Senior Identity and Access Management (IAM) Consultant - Cybersecurity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Identity and Access Management (IAM) Consultant to join our cybersecurity team. You will provide strategic guidance and technical expertise of IAM solutions to help organisations strengthen security, improve user access, and defend systems and data from unauthorized access. This role will focus on both Workforce and Customer Identity domains, utilizing leading technologies to support digital transformation initiatives.

Note: Candidates must be permanent residents or citizens of New Zealand due to security clearance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Workforce IAM solutions including Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Entra External ID, Azure B2C, Okta/Auth0, Saviynt, CyberArk, and Delinea within enterprise environments.
• Configure and manage Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Privileged Identity Management (PIM)/Privileged Access Management (PAM), Identity Governance, Access Reviews, and Lifecycle Workflows.
• Develop Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and least-privilege access models.
• Manage identity lifecycle processes such as Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML), provisioning, deprovisioning, access requests, approvals, and certifications.
• Integrate enterprise applications with identity providers using standards including SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SCIM, and WS-Federation.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable Customer IAM (CIAM) platforms supporting custom authentication flows, user registration, social and federated identity integrations, and passwordless authentication.
• Contribute to IAM strategies, architecture, transformation projects, assessments, and maturity reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality IAM solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior consultants.
• Support ongoing managed services and operational IAM activities.
• Create comprehensive documentation including solution designs, architecture diagrams, statements of work, assessment reports, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Identity and Access Management.
• Demonstrated expertise in both Workforce IAM and Customer IAM solutions.
• Proficiency with Active Directory, hybrid identity environments, Microsoft Entra ID, Saviynt, Auth0, Azure AD B2C, and Microsoft Entra External ID.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting, automation, Azure Functions, API integrations, DevOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code for IAM deployments.
• Knowledge of Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Zero Trust security principles.
• Strong consulting or customer-facing delivery experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business solutions.
• Self-driven, collaborative, and customer-focused with capability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
