Senior HVAC Technician

Role Overview

The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is seeking an experienced HVAC professional to support the upkeep of its luxury property in West Bay Lagoon, Doha. The resort is known for its upscale rooms and suites, dining venues, spa and fitness facilities, pools, private beach, club lounge, and event spaces. This role is part of the Engineering & Facilities function and is a full-time, non-management position.

Key Accountabilities

You will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC, air quality control, and refrigeration systems. The role also includes daily checks of the mechanical plant, regulating building temperature, tracking energy and utility usage, and calibrating controls, gauges, meters, and related equipment. In addition, you will assemble, install, test, repair, and maintain electrical systems and electronic wiring, as well as pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and related components. Routine maintenance support for pools and spa facilities is also required.

Working Standards

The position requires strict compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and security protocols. You will need to report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries, complete safety-related training and certifications, and maintain a neat professional appearance. Confidential information must be protected, company assets safeguarded, and guest service delivered in line with brand standards. Clear communication, teamwork, and a proactive approach to improving efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost control are essential.

Physical Requirements

The work involves frequent reaching, climbing, moving through confined or elevated spaces, and navigating stairs, ramps, ladders, and uneven or slippery surfaces. You must be able to handle tools and objects of different sizes and weights, including lifting and carrying items over 100 pounds with assistance and moving up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Background

A technical, trade, or vocational school qualification is preferred, along with at least 3 years of relevant work experience. No prior supervisory experience is required. The role also calls for EPA Universal Certification, a valid driver's license, and HVAC certification.
