Job description

Role overview

This is a remote senior-level design opportunity based in the United States and connected to a partner employer that handles the application review and hiring steps. The position centers on turning dense technical and program-related information into visuals that are easy to understand, engaging to read, and useful for public-facing communication. You will partner with analysts, writers, and technical specialists to build infographics, reports, dashboards, and other visual storytelling assets that support government and mission-driven initiatives.

The work combines strong creative judgment with accessibility-first design. Every output must follow Section 508 requirements, while also maintaining brand consistency and high design quality. Projects may span areas such as technology assessments, public art, historic preservation, engineering, and architectural programs. The role is intended for someone who can translate complexity into clear communication and create visuals that help leadership and broader audiences make sense of information quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Create infographics, data visualizations, and technical graphics that present evaluation findings and program data in a clear way.
  • Work with writers, analysts, and subject matter experts to decide the best visual approach for complex information.
  • Produce brochures, fact sheets, posters, exhibits, and digital design assets for technology, engineering, and public-sector programs.
  • Make sure all work follows Section 508 accessibility standards and aligns with brand guidelines.
  • Build executive-level dashboards and quick-reference visuals that support decision-making.
  • Contribute to visual storytelling efforts connected to public art, historic preservation, and architectural initiatives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in graphic design, data visualization, or technical communication.
  • A strong portfolio that shows capability in infographics, digital and print design, and data-led storytelling.
  • Ability to convert technical or analytical content into visuals that are easy to follow and accessible.
  • Practical experience with Section 508 compliance or comparable accessibility standards in design work.
  • Working proficiency with standard industry design software, plus a solid grasp of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with technical and non-design stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to juggle several projects at once in a remote setting.

Benefits

  • Negotiable compensation package.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid time off and holiday pay.
  • Remote-first setup with a structured weekday schedule.
  • Opportunities for professional development, internal movement, and career growth.
  • Inclusive team culture with collaboration, recognition, and rewards programs.
