Role Overview

The Senior Graphic Designer for Australia will be instrumental in visually bringing Koala's brand to life across multiple touchpoints. Reporting to the Creative Lead, this role requires translating brand strategies and campaign concepts into outstanding creative work that deepens brand loyalty while supporting commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design initiatives from initial concept through to completion across paid media, organic social channels, CRM campaigns, eCommerce, visual merchandising, and other brand platforms.
  • Actively contribute to the creative brainstorming process by offering unique visual ideas and concepts during campaign planning stages.
  • Consistently interpret the brand strategy into compelling visual content aligned with brand and business goals.
  • Uphold exceptional craft standards in typography, composition, imagery, motion graphics, and storytelling.
  • Maintain brand consistency by ensuring all creative assets adhere to Koala's visual identity guidelines across channels.
  • Identify and implement improvements in templates, processes, and documentation to evolve the Australian creative team's output and cohesion.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Brand, Performance Marketing, eCommerce, CRM, Social Media, and Production to produce high-performing creative content.
  • Leverage campaign data, testing insights, and customer behavior analysis to refine and enhance future creative endeavors.
  • Provide constructive feedback during creative reviews to help elevate the team's quality and output.
  • Support art direction for photo, video, and content production by developing moodboards, layouts, and visual guidelines.
  • Prepare final production-ready digital and print assets ensuring they meet all technical and platform requirements.
  • Organize and maintain the creative asset library for easy accessibility by the wider team.
  • Communicate proactively about any creative risks, production challenges, or opportunities with the Creative Lead.
  • Investigate and adopt new creative trends, tools, artificial intelligence workflows, and technologies that improve quality and team efficiency.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and solution-oriented creative culture within the team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in graphic design within dynamic retail, direct-to-consumer, lifestyle brands, or agency settings.
  • An outstanding portfolio showcasing conceptual creativity and top-tier visual execution.
  • Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of typography, layout, color theory, composition, and visual storytelling techniques.
  • Experienced in designing integrated campaigns across diverse channels.
  • Excellent project management capabilities with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to make data-driven creative decisions using campaign results and testing insights.
  • Effective communicator comfortable presenting creative ideas and collaborating with various teams.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
