About Talabat and Role Overview

Talabat, a member of the Delivery Hero Group headquartered in Berlin and operating in about 65 countries, seeks a Senior Government Relations Officer based in Manama, Bahrain. The individual will oversee government and regulatory relationships, ensuring compliance and facilitating the expansion of Talabat's tMart and Logistics divisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main government relations liaison for both tMart and Logistics verticals, addressing operational, licensing, regulatory, labor, and other government affairs matters to maintain compliance and support business growth.
  • Manage licensing, establishment, renewal, and regulatory compliance for tMart outlets, logistics operations, riders, vehicles, and facilities to ensure continuous operations.
  • Coordinate with authorities like the Ministry of Interior, CID, and Traffic Directorate for official communications regarding incidents or investigations involving employees, riders, partners, or customers, representing the company as needed.
  • Renew and maintain corporate licenses and registrations including Commercial Registration, Trade License, Chamber of Commerce membership, import and municipality permits essential for the company.
  • Oversee activities on the LMRA portal covering work visas, renewals, cancellations, amendments, and business visa processes.
  • Manage issuance and renewals of employees’ CPR cards and related certifications by liaising with government departments and municipalities.
  • Administer GOSI processes including employee registration, salary updates, injury reporting, and invoice resolution.
  • Manage employee driving license applications and renewals via coordination with the Ministry of Interior.
  • Handle Tamkeen portal registrations, identify applicable support programs, and manage relevant documentation, approvals, and reimbursements.
  • Oversee family and business visit visa processes through NPRA portal, ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Process health certificates and employee approvals with MOH, NHRA, LMRA, SIO, and other authorities.
  • Coordinate regulatory permissions for campaigns, promotions, and marketing with MOIC, Consumer Protection Authority, and related bodies.
  • Support customs clearance and coordinate import-export regulatory compliance when needed.
  • Lead branch licensing and establishment by securing required approvals from regulatory authorities such as Ministry of Industry, municipalities, and Civil Defense Authority.
  • Address consumer complaints filed with the Consumer Protection Authority, representing the company during official proceedings and ensuring amicable solutions.
  • Prepare, attest, notarize, and legalize official documents, contracts, and agreements before relevant authorities, embassies, and notaries.
  • Represent the company in corporate governance issues, including POAs, board resolutions, amendments, and signing authority changes.
  • Coordinate government interactions involving sponsors, shareholders, and senior executives.
  • Obtain all necessary government approvals related to corporate social responsibility and community engagement programs.
  • Monitor and report on regulatory developments affecting company operations.
  • Manage Traffic Directorate processes including vehicle registrations, permits, and licenses related to riders and logistics partners.
  • Handle resolution and payment of government-issued violations, fines, and notices.
  • Manage filing, renewal, and protection of trademarks and intellectual property, coordinating with relevant authorities for campaign approvals.
  • Serve as the primary government affairs contact point between Talabat and Bahraini authorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent time management capabilities.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficient communication skills in verbal and written forms.
  • Competence in Microsoft Excel.
