Role Overview

As a Senior Financial Accountant at Riot Games, you will oversee general accounting functions within the Southeast Asia region. Your expertise in accounting principles and practical experience will ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, keeping Riot financially sound.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute journal entries including accruals, prepaid items, fixed assets, and general accounting tasks aligned to month-end close schedules.
• Manage month-end closing activities such as balance sheet reconciliations, variance (flux) analysis, and coordination with outsourced accounting partners to prepare local ledgers and reporting documentation.
• Analyze accounts by investigating fluctuations, tracking trends, identifying irregular transactions, and researching appropriate accounting treatments to recommend solutions.
• Resolve accounting matters related to new transaction types by examining facts and applying local accounting standards and US GAAP accurately.
• Assist in audit and compliance processes, including preparing audit schedules, answering auditor queries, and supporting internal control procedures.
• Identify opportunities to streamline procedures and enhance data quality, utilizing system improvements and automation where feasible.
• Adapt to additional duties as required, demonstrating flexibility within a dynamic team environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or professional certifications such as CPA, CA Singapore, or ACCA.
• At least 4 years’ experience in public or corporate accounting, including 3+ years in a Big 4 audit firm.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and well-developed organizational and documentation skills.
• Collaborative mindset, committed to fostering teamwork and exploring innovative problem-solving methods.
• Proactive problem solver willing to ask questions and take initiative.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with ERP software, preferably Oracle.
• Background in the gaming, entertainment, or technology sectors.
• Experience with US financial reporting and multi-region (including Southeast Asia) reporting requirements.
• Advanced Excel capabilities such as Power Query and experience implementing automation to improve accounting workflows.
