Job description
Role Overview
This position supports the Landscape Unit as a Subject Matter Expert in horticulture, arboriculture, irrigation, greenery quality, and regulatory compliance specifically for Sentosa. The role is key to maintaining landscape assets that are safe, healthy, compliant, and effectively managed, while contributing to sustainability and operational excellence objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage arboriculture and tree care, ensuring tree health and compliance with Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) standards across Sentosa, including heritage and significant trees.
- Evaluate IFM performance regularly and enforce quality standards for maintenance activities.
- Conduct tree risk assessments and provide expert technical advice regarding tree health, preservation, relocation, and protection during development projects.
- Authorize tree removals or related work prior to commencement as required by development protocols.
- Enhance horticulture practices by implementing and monitoring improved maintenance regimens focused on plant health, soil conditions, and treatment methods.
- Supervise and improve irrigation efficiency and water usage, contributing to island-wide greenery water management and crisis planning.
- Support various projects related to tree protection, greenery compliance during construction, and collaborate closely with internal teams and contractors.
- Manage overall greenery and natural areas, assist with precinct beautification and activation efforts, and complete general administrative tasks as assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Diploma or Degree in Horticulture, Arboriculture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum three years of hands-on experience in arboriculture and landscape management.
- Strong expertise in arboriculture, tree risk evaluation, and horticultural maintenance practices.
- Proven ability in contractor and site operations management.
- ISA Certified Arborist certification and experience with tropical tree taxonomy and landscape project management is advantageous.
- Excellent technical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Methodical, structured work approach with a strong emphasis on compliance.
- Hold at least a Class 3 driving license.
- Competent with digital tools and technology.
