Role overview
A major global insurance business is looking for a highly polished Senior Executive Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support to the Chief Operating Officer for Global Claims Operations. This is a visible and demanding position in a fast-moving international setting, requiring strong judgement, calm handling of multiple priorities, and a consistently professional approach.
The assignment is a 6-month contract based in London with hybrid working, and the pay is £30.00 per hour.
What you will do
- Deliver high-level one-to-one support to the COO, Global Claims Operations.
- Work closely with senior leaders and direct reports to keep coordination running smoothly.
- Manage a complex diary across several time zones and competing commitments.
- Set up meetings, leadership reviews, offsites, and wider business events.
- Arrange monthly and quarterly business reviews as well as senior leadership sessions.
- Handle a high-volume inbox, sorting and responding to messages where suitable.
- Organise international and domestic travel, including flights, hotels, and ground transport.
- Support visa arrangements and ensure destination-specific travel rules are followed.
- Submit and track expenses using Concur.
- Prepare briefings, presentations, reports, and meeting packs.
- Maintain electronic records, filing systems, and related documentation.
- Join meetings, record minutes, and follow up on actions until completion.
- Act as a main contact point for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with onboarding tasks such as equipment requests and system access for new starters.
What the employer is looking for
- Substantial experience as an Executive Assistant supporting C-suite or other senior executives.
- Background in a global matrix organisation is preferred.
- Experience working with international stakeholders across different regions and time zones.
- Strong diary, meeting, and travel coordination capabilities.
- Confident stakeholder management skills, including interaction at senior level.
- Advanced ability in Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Comfort using video conferencing tools and wider business systems.
- Excellent organisation and the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
- Ability to treat sensitive and confidential information with complete discretion.
- Sound judgement, strong attention to detail, and practical problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the insurance sector, especially claims, would be an advantage.
- Experience supporting senior leaders in insurance or financial services would also be beneficial.
- Familiarity with Concur expense management is desirable.
