Job Purpose
The MEP Estimator / Senior Estimator will develop precise and commercially competitive cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works in fit-out projects. The role includes studying project requirements, checking drawings and specifications, gathering supplier and subcontractor pricing, and ensuring estimates are complete, accurate, and aligned with project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, tender files, and specifications to identify all MEP scope requirements.
- Build detailed cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing packages.
- Request pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and labor.
- Assess quotations and negotiate rates to deliver strong commercial value.
- Work with project managers and delivery teams to validate estimates and update them where needed.
- Keep well-organized records of estimates, quotations, and pricing support documents.
- Support bid preparation, tender submissions, and commercial proposal drafting.
- Provide estimating and cost assistance during procurement and project delivery stages.
- Spot cost risks and identify opportunities for value engineering.
- Follow company processes, industry practices, and project specifications.
Internal Relationships
Estimating Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineers, and Project Teams.
External Relationships
Suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients as needed.
Experience and Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is mandatory. Prior experience in estimating MEP works for fit-out or construction projects is preferred, and exposure to tendering, cost estimation, and procurement support will be an added advantage.
