Position Overview
The Senior Director, Regional Impact, is responsible for hands-on coaching and support for Chief Academic Officers and Chief Schools Officers within select regions. The role focuses on advancing academic achievements aligned with KIPP's One KIPP goals by building leadership capacity, establishing strong instructional visions, and implementing sustaining instructional systems. Reporting to the Vice President of Regional Impact and serving on the Schools Team, this leader fosters trust-based partnerships and delivers tailored support while maintaining network-wide standards. This position suits experienced instructional leaders, such as former principals or supervisors, aiming to broaden their impact on student success at a national scale.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with regional academic and school leaders to improve academic systems leading to strong student outcomes.
- Coach leaders to develop necessary skills and mindsets for sustaining academic excellence.
- Utilize leadership tools and continuous improvement practices to promote effective leadership behaviors linked to student success.
- Ensure adoption and mastery of high-leverage leadership techniques with measurable impact on student achievement.
- Track student performance using key metrics and monitor adult practices contributing to these results.
- Analyze data to advise improvements to One KIPP strategies based on regional leadership actions and outcomes.
- Collaborate with Regional Superintendents and the VP to define and uphold standards for academic systems aimed at scalable student growth.
- Provide training and coaching on these system standards through in-person and virtual sessions.
- Evaluate and refine excellence benchmarks continuously using data insights.
- Lead a team of content specialists to support regions based on their specific priorities and objectives.

Experience & Qualifications:
- More than 10 years of combined teaching and school leadership experience with demonstrable student achievement impact.
- Proven exceptional school leadership, typically as a principal or supervisor, with a record of driving student outcomes through leadership development.
- Demonstrated success coaching school and regional leaders to produce measurable improvements in practice and results.
- Experience applying quantitative and qualitative data for progress tracking, root-cause analysis, and timely intervention.
- Expertise in continuous improvement cycles; training at Relay Graduate School of Education is strongly preferred.
- Strong background in K-12 leadership is highly desirable.
Additional Information
Work Conditions: This full-time exempt role requires substantial travel—31-40% annually (approximately 65 to 90 days).
Location: While preference is for working out of a KIPP Foundation office (New York City or Chicago), full-time remote arrangements are permissible.
Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for this position is $156,000 to $188,500 annually, variable based on factors such as experience and market data.
