Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Director of Project Management for our Operations team. This leadership role is responsible for driving excellence in delivery, financial outcomes, and consistent operations across multiple accounts and projects. Acting as the connection between execution teams and executive management, the Senior Director ensures alignment and maintains foundational success through operational efficiency and financial health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and uphold consistent delivery standards to meet or exceed project timelines, budgets, and quality goals.
  • Oversee project portfolios, actively managing scope, resource allocation, workflow processes, and identifying risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to support forecasting accuracy, sustain account health, and address delivery challenges.
  • Ensure disciplined use of project management software like Workfront, including proper project setup, workflow configurations, updates, and closure.
  • Assist with budget creation, ROI analysis, scope adjustments, and change management.
  • Track financial performance at the project level to spot margin, capacity, or scheduling issues.
  • Conduct analysis of project and utilization reports to inform staffing and resource optimization.
  • Work with Operations and other teams to improve delivery processes, governance, and best practices.
  • Identify and lead corrective actions for inefficiencies or systemic challenges across teams to enhance workflow.
  • Develop scalable solutions facilitating growth, improving coordination, and increasing delivery predictability.
  • Mentor and guide Project Managers, promoting accountability, performance, and career progression.
  • Provide daily instruction on project plans, scope, budgeting, and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 years of project management or delivery experience, preferably in professional services, medical communications, advertising, or similar sectors.
  • Proven background in managing and developing project management teams.
  • Strong expertise in project planning, workflow management, and operational oversight.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with Workfront or equivalent project management tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities capable of influencing multiple levels.
  • Solid financial and business insight for budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing profitability.
  • Commitment to continuous operational improvement and client satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently while leading teams to meet operational and financial targets.
