Senior Director of Operations

About the Role

We are supporting the recruitment for a senior operational leadership position based in Abu Dhabi under a strategic, high-profile initiative. Reporting just below the C-suite, this role is responsible for directing key internal departments such as Human Resources, Commercial, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Real Estate, and IT. The main goal is to ensure strong governance, financial discipline, and scalable operational practices within a complex, stakeholder-rich institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational strategies that align with long-term institutional goals.
• Supervise performance measurement systems, including KPIs and reporting mechanisms across several functions.
• Maintain rigorous financial controls, budget oversight, and pursue cost-saving opportunities.
• Drive initiatives focused on process improvements and digital transformation.
• Manage relationships with vendors and ensure delivery standards are met.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on operational matters to senior management.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Over 15 years of progressive experience in operations, corporate services, or organizational transformation.
• Proven senior leadership experience at the Director, Vice President, or Head of Department level.
• Strong expertise in financial and commercial management with direct budget accountability.
• Hands-on experience overseeing departments including Finance, HR, Procurement, Real Estate, and IT.
• Background working in UAE government entities, sovereign-backed organizations, regulated sectors, or complex institutional environments.
• Demonstrable history of enhancing governance, performance, and organization-wide improvement.
• Experience within start-up environments is a significant advantage.
