Overview

The Senior Director of eCommerce is responsible for crafting and implementing the digital commerce strategy to enhance revenue growth and improve the customer journey. This senior leadership role involves managing the development and execution of multi-year product roadmaps, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring platform effectiveness in alignment with corporate goals to achieve measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of the company's eCommerce product strategy, developing long-term plans that enhance customer engagement and increase digital sales.
  • Enhance the online shopping experience by ensuring the website is user-friendly, adaptive, visually appealing, and engineered to boost conversion rates and repeat business.
  • Monitor and analyze eCommerce performance metrics to optimize profitability, set KPIs, and inform decisions around pricing, promotions, merchandising, and digital marketing investments.
  • Collaborate with senior executives and cross-departmental teams to ensure eCommerce initiatives support overall enterprise strategies and foster innovation in digital products and services.
  • Oversee partnerships with vendors and technology providers to guarantee platform functionality supports marketing needs, operational efficiency, and scalability.
  • Eliminate organizational obstacles, accelerate decision-making processes, and provide teams with clear direction, resources, and backing to deliver impactful digital outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and perform additional duties as necessary.

Team Leadership

  • Responsible for recruiting, managing, and developing direct reports, including overseeing performance, goal setting, and fostering ethical business practices aligned with the organization's Code of Conduct.
  • Create and maintain a positive, productive work environment through leadership and team support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years in eCommerce, digital product management, or digital marketing with extensive cross-functional leadership experience.
  • At least 6 years in senior leadership or managerial roles overseeing teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Proven experience leading large-scale eCommerce product organizations.
  • Proficiency in agile product development and enterprise platform integration.

Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth expertise with eCommerce platforms, digital marketing tools, and online merchandising best practices.
  • Strong product management capabilities and agile leadership, including vision setting, roadmap prioritization, and guiding complex project deliveries.
  • Advanced financial and analytical skills including KPI formulation, forecasting, and digital business P&L oversight.
  • Excellent leadership skills focused on talent development, change management, and fostering a customer-centric high-performance culture.
  • Thorough understanding of user experience design principles such as navigation, content strategy, visual product presentation, and mobile optimization.
  • Effective collaboration and influence at executive, technical, and business levels.
  • Proven ability managing vendor relationships and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with the aptitude to translate complex technical concepts into clear business terms.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

  • Frequent communication and hearing requirements; constant focus, decision-making, and task independence.
  • Primarily seated work; occasional hand-eye coordination and bending.
  • Largely operates in a professional office or remote home office environment with minimal environmental hazards.

Working Environment and Travel

  • Work is primarily conducted remotely with periodic office interaction. The office setting includes common professional workspace equipment.
  • Travel requirements are approximately 10% of the role.

Compensation

The position offers a salary range from $177,700 to $237,033 annually, with final offers dependent on factors such as candidate location, experience, and skill set.
