Role overview

This senior leadership position is focused on directing modern, strategic public affairs and corporate reputation marketing programs. The role leads client relationships in full or in part, shapes the strategic direction for accounts, manages teams, and develops new ideas and relationships that help grow the agency.

Compensation and location

  • Base salary range: $150,000 to $165,000 per year.
  • Work location: This is an onsite role, with an expectation to be in the Washington, DC or New York City office at least three days each week.

What you will do

  • Guide integrated campaigns from strategy through execution for awareness and persuasion efforts tied to brand reputation and policy goals.
  • Review research insights, build strategic recommendations, and collaborate with targeting, creative, and media teams to develop integrated plans using paid, earned, and owned channels.
  • Direct paid digital advertising work, including messaging, digital content, and review of deliverables such as reports, memos, presentations, and social media assets.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, own day-to-day account management, and support partners and executive leaders across multiple engagements.
  • Coach team members, strengthen their expertise, and help build future agency leaders while maintaining quality and efficiency across deliverables.
  • Work closely with colleagues across offices and departments to keep timelines, standards, and expectations on track.
  • Partner with agency leadership on new business development, including proposals and pitch materials, while helping maintain and expand existing client relationships.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience spanning public affairs, brand management, and paid digital marketing.
  • A strong history of managing complex accounts and delivering effective advocacy and media campaigns.
  • Confidence presenting to audiences ranging from C-suite executives at large companies to large cross-functional teams.
  • Strong command of cross-channel marketing and the ability to analyze problems thoughtfully.
  • High levels of organization and accuracy, including managing scopes, budgets, reporting, and multiple workstreams at once.
  • Ability to lead fast-moving, highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent presentation, writing, and analytical abilities, with the capacity to produce strategic and creative work under tight deadlines.
  • Awareness of policy discussions, competitor activity, and the media environment to support timely and relevant storytelling.
  • Experience leading large, layered teams and giving clear feedback that supports professional growth.
  • Comfort handling both strategic planning and daily client service execution.
  • Ability to learn quickly and get up to speed on public affairs topics rapidly.

Benefits

  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for U.S.-based employees.
  • 401(k) plan with company match of up to 4%.
  • Generous vacation time off.
  • $50 monthly phone reimbursement.
  • Unlimited sick leave.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave for new parents.
