Role overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity with a privately backed global MedTech business that is in the middle of major change. The position sits at the center of a worldwide supply chain transformation and reports to the Vice President of Global Supply Chain. Based in the United States and working remotely, the role calls for a commercially strong sourcing leader who can raise procurement capability, strengthen supplier performance, and improve external manufacturing outcomes across an international network.
You will take ownership of the full global sourcing and external manufacturing agenda. The remit includes creating stronger supplier partnerships, modernizing procurement practices, and delivering clear productivity gains in a fast-moving, private equity environment where speed, structure, and measurable outcomes are essential.
The role manages more than $70M in spend across several categories and leads a high-performing global team with five direct reports. A key part of the job will be developing the team, building accountability, and encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement.
What you will do
- Lead global sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and external manufacturing activities across a complex international supply base.
- Own the end-to-end sourcing strategy and external manufacturing agenda.
- Build strategic supplier relationships that improve resilience, performance, and commercial value.
- Upgrade procurement processes and introduce stronger discipline into sourcing operations.
- Deliver productivity, cost optimization, and supplier performance improvements.
- Manage a spend portfolio of more than $70M across multiple categories.
- Direct and develop a global team of 5 direct reports.
- Establish a culture of accountability, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
- Support cross-functional work with Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and R&D.
- Contribute to transformation efforts in areas such as NPI, geographic expansion, and M&A integration.
What the role requires
- At least 10 years of leadership experience in global sourcing, procurement, and external manufacturing.
- A strong record of improving sourcing performance and supplier outcomes during transformation efforts.
- Experience working in private equity-backed or other high-growth change-driven environments.
- Deep capability in supplier negotiations, procurement strategy, and cost reduction.
- Exposure to medical device, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing settings is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- APICS, CPIM, or CPM certification is preferred.
- Experience using ERP platforms, procurement analytics, and supply chain technologies.
- Ability to create supplier governance structures and KPI frameworks.
- Background supporting new product introduction, expansion into new geographies, or merger and acquisition integration.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and negotiation skills.
- Comfort working closely with functions such as Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and R&D.
- Willingness to travel internationally when needed.
