Senior Dietician

Role Overview

This is a permanent, full-time post within the CRC Children’s Disability Network Team, split equally between the Balbriggan and Swords teams (0.5 WTE in each).

The Children’s Disability Network Teams provide intervention for children and young people aged 0–18 with complex developmental needs requiring interdisciplinary input. The service follows a Family Centered Practice Model aligned with Progressing Disability Services. The post offers the chance to work in a lively multidisciplinary setting and access a range of CPD opportunities through the team and the wider organisation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dietetic input for children and young people with complex developmental needs across the CDNT setting.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, including physiotherapists and other team members, to support coordinated care.
• Apply a family-centred approach in line with the service model and Progressing Disability Services.
• Contribute to the organisation’s transformation programme and support the adoption of lean healthcare practices.
• Demonstrate leadership, initiative, time management, and effective teamwork in daily practice.
• Ensure communication with children, families, and colleagues is clear, respectful, and person-centred.
• Maintain professional standards and support quality, collaboration, and continuous learning across the service.

Requirements

• A recognised degree, or an equivalent qualification approved by the Dietitians Registration Board of CORU, and current CORU registration.
• At least three years’ experience after qualification.
• Background in paediatric dietetics.
• Proven leadership and team management ability, including effective work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, initiative, time management, and teamwork skills.
• Full driving licence and access to a personal car.
• Desirable: experience working in disability services.
• Desirable: evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role.

Salary

Department of Health salary scales apply at Senior Dietitian grade code 3395, ranging from €65,197 to €76,767.
