Role Overview

Avicado is looking for a Senior Design Project Coordinator who can help drive project execution in a fast-moving, remote setting. This position suits someone with experience in design and/or construction who enjoys coordinating complex work, solving problems, and taking full ownership of outcomes. The role supports construction owners by improving how technology and data are used across projects.

What Success Looks Like

The right person is proactive, accountable, and comfortable working across teams to keep projects moving. You should enjoy improving processes, challenging assumptions when needed, and contributing ideas that lead to better results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the owner’s team by coordinating project execution across design and construction stakeholders.
  • Manage design deliverables and milestone tracking from project kickoff through closeout.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the owner and engineers of record to keep models, drawings, and record documents moving on schedule.
  • Monitor design timelines and reinforce accountability among internal and external partners.
  • Maintain project systems and document/model environments so teams work from current and reliable information.
  • Perform drawing and document reviews to confirm alignment with established QA/QC standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews and communication around design deliverables.
  • Keep project records accurate and oversee final document handoff to operations.
  • Assist with construction-phase delivery and change management while improving workflows and standard processes.

Required Experience and Capabilities

  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and/or construction industry in project or program management.
  • Working knowledge of the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction to closeout.
  • Background in document control, including revision tracking and repository management.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC reviews against established standards.
  • Strong organization and multitasking ability.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Professional written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to stay effective in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to technology projects, including software implementation and administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Google Workspace, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to lead decisively in complex and demanding situations.
  • Proven influence across cross-functional teams, even without formal authority.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working with different team styles.
  • Basic understanding of data center engineering or construction.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adjust messaging for different stakeholders.
  • Experience working with remote teams across multiple time zones.

Candidate Profile

  • Responsive and quick to act for both clients and teammates.
  • Innovative and open to creative approaches.
  • Entrepreneurial, with a strong bias toward initiative and results.
  • Solution-focused and able to bring answers, not just issues.
  • Highly accountable and motivated by performance.
  • Calm under pressure and able to thrive in a busy environment.
  • Coachable and open to feedback and guidance.
