Job Overview
This contract role is for a Senior Data Analyst based in Spring, Texas. The assignment runs for 6 months and offers pay in the range of $35 to $37.35 per hour on W2. The role focuses on marketing analytics, with an emphasis on building a reliable reporting foundation using Power BI, DAX, and SQL.
Role Summary
You will be responsible for creating unified, scalable dashboards that bring together data from multiple initiatives into a single reporting structure. The goal is to reduce manual reporting effort, establish one trusted source of truth, and help teams monitor business performance and make better decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and refine Power BI dashboards by combining data from multiple projects into one consolidated reporting layer.
- Create advanced DAX calculations such as year-over-year, month-over-month, year-to-date, growth, and other time-based measures.
- Handle end-to-end data modeling and transformation while replacing manual processes with reusable and scalable datasets.
- Set, align, and maintain KPIs and performance metrics so business reviews remain consistent.
- Analyze data to uncover trends, investigate issues, and surface insights that can drive action.
- Use historical data for trend analysis and, where relevant, support predictive modeling efforts.
- Improve dashboard speed, refresh behavior, and long-term maintainability.
- Work with business stakeholders to turn requirements into practical analytics solutions.
- Communicate findings through dashboards, reports, and discussions with stakeholders to support informed decisions.
- Keep enhancing reporting processes based on feedback and changing business needs.
Required Experience and Skills
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a closely related field.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of Power BI, including modeling, dashboard design, and advanced DAX development.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with structured or curated data sets.
- Exposure to Databricks or similar data environments is an added advantage.
- Prior experience developing dashboards used for recurring business reviews and performance tracking.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability with complex data.
- Experience in data transformation, mapping, and reporting through BI tools.
- Ability to manage several projects at once and work independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Good communication skills with the ability to convert data findings into business language.
Preferred Background
- Experience with statistical analysis, forecasting, or predictive modeling.
- Understanding of data warehousing and data engineering fundamentals.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling.
Additional Information
This is a W2 contract engagement for 6 months. The compensation is specified as an hourly rate between $35 and $37.35. The work location is onsite in Spring, TX.
