Role overview

We are looking for a seasoned data analyst who specializes in Medicaid, healthcare claims, and related operational analytics. This onsite role in Tallahassee, FL supports enterprise reporting, program evaluation, operational insights, and policy-related decision-making. The position calls for strong hands-on experience with large healthcare datasets, especially Medicaid claims, provider, eligibility, and encounter information.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, leadership, and technical teams to turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations while supporting regulatory requirements and federal/state reporting needs.

Work arrangement and interview mode

This is an onsite position based in Tallahassee, Florida. Interviews are conducted face to face.

Experience required

The role requires more than 10 years of total experience, with at least 5 years in data analysis and at least 3 years using business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Key responsibilities

  • Study Medicaid claims, eligibility, provider, and encounter datasets to uncover patterns and insights.
  • Use advanced analytics to detect trends, irregularities, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to program evaluation efforts and policy analysis work.
  • Create executive-level dashboards and recurring operational reports in Power BI or Tableau.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into reporting and analytics specifications.
  • Explain findings clearly to both technical teams and non-technical audiences.
  • Build and verify data extracts used for CMS and state reporting.
  • Support healthcare performance measurement and compliance-related reporting.
  • Maintain alignment with HIPAA requirements and data governance practices.
  • Record data sources, analytical methods, assumptions, and report logic in detail.
  • Assist with audits, special initiatives, and federal reporting tasks.
  • Prepare technical documentation for repeatable reports and data pipeline processes.
  • Use machine learning methods where suitable for forecasting and risk stratification.
  • Carry out data checks, validation, quality reviews, and reconciliation work.
  • Hand over documentation and reporting knowledge to other team members as needed.

Required qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analysis.
  • Strong background in analyzing healthcare or Medicaid claims data.
  • Very good command of SQL and SAS.
  • Working knowledge of Python for analysis and automation tasks.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable BI tools.
  • Solid understanding of Medicaid data domains, including claims, eligibility, provider, and encounter records.
  • Strong communication and presentation ability.
  • Experience presenting analytical results to business stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

  • Exposure to state or federal healthcare programs.
  • Background in Medicaid managed care.
  • Experience supporting LTSS or waiver programs.
  • Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning models.
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods and forecasting.
