Role Overview
The Credit team at Revolut is responsible for developing and scaling lending products that fuel our worldwide growth. This team manages everything from backend infrastructure to customer-facing features by blending market knowledge, risk expertise, and technical accuracy to deliver secure and innovative credit solutions tailored by region. We are seeking a Senior Credit Policy Manager to lead credit risk policy design, procedures, and strategies for retail lending products. This includes validating underwriting approaches and spearheading proactive and reactive measures aligned with market and product updates.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate account-level credit underwriting and valuation policies utilizing NPV frameworks to optimize portfolio economic outcomes.
- Make informed, data-driven decisions emphasizing marginal decision analysis.
- Oversee credit limits, risk-based pricing models, customer retention strategies, and over-limit controls.
- Continuously refine risk-return thresholds and portfolio returns as new insights emerge.
- Contribute to the full cycle of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Monitor ongoing initiatives closely, extracting insights and reporting on credit KPIs.
- Identify and implement small-scale operational improvements within the Credit department.
- Ensure the credit risk function's approval and positive rating from internal audit lines and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing risk processes for retail credit products such as credit cards and unsecured personal loans.
- Bachelor’s degree from a leading university in a quantitative or analytical subject, including engineering, statistics, physics, mathematics, economics, or management.
- Comprehensive understanding of credit policy governance and capability to navigate second and third line defense functions effectively.
- Strong track record of exceeding expected outcomes in relevant roles.
- Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to plan strategically, meet diverse goals, and anticipate or resolve potential challenges.
- Familiarity with credit risk and behavioral scoring methodologies specifically for retail lending.
- Skill in conveying complex ideas clearly and simply.
- Balanced approach to rapid market delivery while ensuring solution quality and business alignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, R, and Python.
- Enthusiasm for adopting new technologies to aid business scalability.
