Job description
About the company
AutoTrader.ca is part of a Canadian digital automotive group that helps people buy, sell, and finance vehicles with confidence. Its portfolio includes AutoTrader.ca, AutoSync, Dealertrack Canada, and CMS. AutoTrader.ca is the country’s biggest automotive marketplace, attracting more than 25 million visits each month. AutoSync supports over 3,500 dealers with software that helps simplify operations, marketing, and sales. Dealertrack Canada is a leading automotive financing portal in the country and handles more than 6.5 million credit applications annually. CMS provides national technology solutions for lien and registration services, recovery services, and insolvency management for Canadian lenders.
As part of the AutoScout24 group, Europe’s largest online car marketplace, the business is helping shape the future of automotive retail across Canada and beyond.
This role is focused on defining how the brand appears across paid social, YouTube, creator collaborations, and organic channels. The work is centered on translating brand strategy into practical creative direction that performs in market and stays consistent, distinctive, and effective.
Role overview
The Senior Creative Strategist will collaborate with creators, agencies, and internal teams to produce high-quality short-form video and social-first creative. Working alongside the paid social team, this person will help build the creative testing roadmap and use campaign results to learn what content resonates, then apply those insights to improve future output.
Paid social and online video are key spaces for fast experimentation and continuous refinement. Learnings from those channels will be used to strengthen brand expression across platforms and shape how the brand evolves over time.
Key responsibilities
- Set and own the creative testing roadmap, including hypotheses, tests, learnings, and iteration on concepts, hooks, and creator types.
- Work with the paid social performance marketing team to interpret ad results and decide what should be tested next.
- Apply performance data and audience insights to sharpen creative quality and messaging.
- Prepare briefs for creators and internal teams, then manage delivery of short-form video assets.
- Review creator outlines, rough edits, and final cuts to confirm the work remains aligned to the brief before launch.
- Shape how AutoScout24 app or site moments are woven into creator content so the output feels credible and useful rather than merely promotional.
- Develop and maintain a small creator network that authentically reflects the brand.
- Keep paid and organic social execution aligned in tone and consistency.
- Experiment with AI-based tools and workflows to improve creative speed and production efficiency.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in brand, social creative, content strategy, or a closely related field.
- Strong background in working with creators and producing short-form content.
- Good understanding of Meta, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Ability to translate brand ideas into effective advertising and social content.
- Comfort with data-driven decision-making while still exercising strong creative judgment; advanced analytics expertise is not required.
- Experience briefing, coordinating, and managing creators and creative production.
- Confidence in making clear creative go/no-go decisions.
- Practical experience using AI tools for creative development or iteration.
- Fluent English and French at an intermediate level.
- Experience scaling creator-led or UGC-focused content strategies; exposure to international or multi-market environments is considered an advantage.
What this role is not
- This is not a community management or social media management position.
- This is not a pure performance marketing or media buying role.
- This is not a traditional brand campaign role centered only on large launches.
- This is not an agency coordination role without direct creative ownership.
Benefits and compensation
Benefits are available from day one and include gym discounts, an employee and family assistance program, virtual wellness events, a conferences and training budget, and regular internal training programs. Financial planning support is also provided through 3% pension matching and multiple forms of income protection.
The expected pay range for this role is CAD 90,000 to CAD 110,000. The final offer may differ depending on relevant skills, experience, location, and market conditions, and the overall rewards package may also include benefits, bonus, and other employee offerings.
