Overview

Corrosion Control Engineers' New Plymouth office in New Zealand is seeking a seasoned Cathodic Protection Technician to join their expert team. This role combines both office-based and field duties involving cathodic protection tasks, with travel expected to various locations across New Zealand.

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform field audits and conduct pipeline inspections using DCVG and CIPS techniques.
  • Carry out routine testing, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting for cathodic protection systems across multiple structural types.
  • Commission cathodic protection installations ensuring operational effectiveness.

Candidate Requirements

  • Excellent proficiency in English.
  • At least five years of hands-on cathodic protection field experience backed by certifications such as NACE or ACA; candidates holding CP Technician or Technologist status are preferred.
  • Relevant experience with oil and gas, pipeline infrastructure, marine environments, or comparable sectors.
  • Solid understanding of sacrificial anode and impressed current cathodic protection technologies applicable to buried and submerged metal structures.
  • Competence in computer applications including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Readiness to travel for site assignments as needed.
  • Valid driver's license.
