Job description

About the role

Cuscal is hiring a Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy to join its Client, Growth & Strategy function in Sydney. In this senior position, you will work closely with the Head of Strategy and the Executive Leadership Team to help define Cuscal’s strategic direction, growth priorities, and major enterprise initiatives.

The role is both strategic and hands-on: you will contribute to high-level decision-making while also turning plans into practical actions that deliver measurable outcomes across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and help execute Cuscal’s corporate strategy and multi-year growth plan.
  • Work with the Executive Leadership Team on strategy decisions, planning routines, and Board-level engagement.
  • Convert strategic goals into clear priorities, execution roadmaps, and measurable results.
  • Evaluate potential partnerships, acquisitions, and other growth opportunities that fit Cuscal’s strategy.
  • Support or lead transaction work end to end, including business case preparation, due diligence, and integration planning.
  • Provide detailed commercial and strategic analysis to guide investment decisions.
  • Lead enterprise-wide strategic programs from early concept through delivery.
  • Run the Quarterly Business Review process to monitor performance, risks, and outcomes.
  • Prepare polished executive-level presentations and narrative materials that influence stakeholders and build alignment.

Candidate profile

You should be a commercially focused strategy professional who is comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-impact environments. The role suits someone who can balance big-picture thinking with strong execution, and who earns trust through sound judgement, stakeholder management, and dependable follow-through.

  • At least 7 years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, corporate development, or investment banking.
  • Background in supporting or leading major strategic deals or initiatives such as M&A, partnerships, alliances, or large commercial transactions.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to turn analysis into practical recommendations.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel, with experience producing executive-ready materials.
  • Excellent written communication for Board papers, investment cases, and strategy documents.
  • Comfortable working with data, financial analysis, and commercial models.

Why join Cuscal

  • Be part of a business helping shape the future of Australia’s payments sector.
  • Work on meaningful, high-impact projects that affect financial services and millions of customers.
  • Collaborate with skilled, connected teams in an innovative environment.
  • Access recognition and growth opportunities through IGNITE and tailored development support.
  • Benefit from wellbeing initiatives covering physical, mental, and financial health, plus discounts through Cuscal Advantage.
  • Join a workplace that values diverse perspectives and flexible working arrangements.
