Job description
Role overview
This project brings together experienced management consultants to help create training environments for advanced AI systems. The work centers on turning authentic consulting engagements into structured scenarios, task flows, and evaluation methods that reflect how real consulting teams analyze problems and advise clients.
The role is part of a broader effort to support frontier model post-training through domain-specific reinforcement learning environments, tasks, and assessment frameworks designed by practitioners. The platform behind this initiative has operated since 2014 as an enterprise AI and machine learning data partner, using expertise in scalable data generation, crowd technology, and applied ML systems.
You will collaborate with other consultants from leading strategy firms to shape how AI systems learn business reasoning, recommendation-building, and client-ready problem solving.
Who this role is for
This opportunity is strictly limited to consultants who have hands-on experience at one of the approved top-tier firms. Applicants without direct project experience at the listed firms should not apply, as the domain is intended to be built by professionals trained in rigorous structured problem solving and client delivery.
Approved firms include McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Bain & Company, Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger, Monitor Deloitte (Deloitte S&C), EY-Parthenon, Kearney, and Strategy& (PwC).
What you will do
This is a remote, project-based role for an individual contributor. The focus is on analytical design and evaluation rather than technical engineering.
- Create realistic consulting case environments with rich context such as industry background, financial data, constraints, conflicting inputs, and incomplete information.
- Break consulting work into structured tasks that resemble real assignments such as market sizing, commercial due diligence, cost reduction, growth strategy, operational diagnosis, and benchmarking.
- Develop scoring rules, evaluation rubrics, and reference answers that can be used to train and calibrate an LLM-based grading system for AI outputs.
Candidate profile
Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of experience at one of the approved firms and have personally worked on projects involving ambiguous problem framing, financial modeling, market analysis, or synthesis of complex inputs into polished client deliverables.
They should be comfortable building analytical plans from unclear starting points, defending recommendations despite uncertainty, and working independently with minimal supervision.
Skills and working style
- Strong hypothesis-led problem solving
- Ability to convert vague business questions into structured analytical steps
- Experience preparing client-ready outputs under deadline pressure
- Careful attention to logic, consistency, and quality
- Independent and self-managed approach to work
- Clear written English at B2 level or above
Compensation
Contributors may earn up to the equivalent of $60 per hour, depending on their level and speed of contribution.
Pay can differ from project to project based on the scope, complexity, and expertise required.
Additional information
No deep technical background is needed. Selected contributors will be onboarded on the lightweight tools used for the project.
