About EY and the Role

EY is dedicated to building a better working world by driving long-term value for clients, people, and society, while fostering trust in capital markets. EY operates globally with diverse teams across assurance, consulting, law, strategy, tax, and transactions that leverage data and technology to solve complex challenges.

The EY GDS Risk Consulting division focuses on delivering tailored financial services risk management solutions across the MENA region. This practice specializes in helping banks and financial institutions manage various financial and regulatory risks including credit, market, operational, IRRBB, credit concentration, and liquidity risks. Within this, the Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) team supports clients in designing, enhancing, validating, and implementing frameworks such as Stress Testing, ICAAP, and ILAAP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, improve, and benchmark liquidity stress testing and ILAAP methodologies applied by banks and financial institutions in the MENA region.
  • Perform independent validation of ILAAP documentation submitted by MENA banks to regulators.
  • Enhance methodologies used in the calculation and reporting of liquidity ratios including LCR and NSFR.
  • Create clear review reports and summarize findings for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in ILAAP and liquidity risk within the financial sector; approximately 8 years overall experience in BFSI.
  • Proven background working with large or mid-sized banks delivering liquidity stress testing results, Contingency Funding Plans, ILAAP documents, and liquidity ratios reporting.
  • Alternatively, experience at a Big-4 or major consulting firm advising banks on liquidity risk management benchmarking, ILAAP enhancement, and stress testing processes.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to capital ratios reporting or regulatory reporting systems.

Educational and Technical Skills

  • Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, or an MBA in Finance are mandatory.
  • Strong grasp of industry best practices in ILAAP and liquidity stress testing.
  • Understanding of both stock and flow liquidity risk measurement approaches.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel, and MS Office.
  • Experience handling large data sets and solid documentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and produce high-quality results under tight deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Open to travel for client assignments.

Desirable Certifications and Knowledge

  • Certifications such as FRM, CFA, or PRM are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with EBA guidelines on ILAAP and regulatory stress testing for liquidity risk.

Additional Information

The role requires collaborative work within multidisciplinary teams, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to advancing solutions across organizational boundaries. The position is based in Kochi, India.
