Job description
Role overview
This position sits within the Data & AI team in the AI Hub in Dubai. The team helps clients address accounting and financial reporting challenges through modern technology, with a focus on analytics, better decision-making, and AI-led innovation that supports a more efficient finance function.
About the opportunity
You will join a fast-moving AI Hub that builds prototypes, proof of concepts, minimum viable products, and full production solutions. The work includes bringing AI use cases to life through products such as GenAI-based web applications, use-case marketplaces, and diagnostic tools. The role covers both front-end and back-end engineering, with responsibility for creating secure, scalable, accessible, and enterprise-ready digital experiences from concept through production.
Core responsibilities
In this role, you will design, build, and improve end-to-end software solutions that translate business needs into robust AI-enabled products.
- Develop enterprise-grade software across both backend and frontend layers.
- Build and maintain secure, scalable APIs using Python and Node.js, including frameworks such as FastAPI and Fastify.
- Create modern frontend experiences using TypeScript, React, and Next.js while meeting enterprise UI and accessibility expectations.
- Package, deploy, and run applications in production with Docker and Kubernetes, with attention to uptime, resilience, and scale.
- Set up and maintain CI/CD workflows with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps, including automated testing and quality checks.
- Deploy and manage production workloads on Microsoft Azure using services such as AKS, Azure Container Apps, Azure Container Registry, and related platform components.
- Apply strong engineering practices such as SOLID principles, clean architecture, and standard enterprise design patterns.
- Work with relational databases including MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL, covering schema design, query tuning, and transactional integrity.
- Implement and support vector database solutions and pgvector, including Retrieval Augmented Generation pipelines in live environments.
- Collaborate closely with product, architecture, security, and cloud/platform stakeholders.
- Work with LLMs and AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, or comparable enterprise services.
- Use orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar tools.
- Make practical use of AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex.
- Document technical work clearly and contribute to architecture choices, engineering standards, and internal best practices.
- Support junior engineers and contribute to broader engineering excellence efforts.
Required experience and qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional experience delivering enterprise software solutions across backend and frontend systems.
- Strong practical knowledge of API development in Python and Node.js.
- Solid hands-on frontend development experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Experience shipping containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and quality gates.
- Proven work experience on Microsoft Azure production services.
- Working knowledge of software design principles, clean architecture, and common enterprise patterns.
- Experience with MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Practical exposure to vector databases and RAG-based production workflows.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional enterprise teams.
- Experience with enterprise LLM platforms and AI services.
- Familiarity with LLM orchestration frameworks.
- Comfort using AI-assisted coding tools.
- Strong technical writing and documentation ability.
- Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to engineering improvement initiatives.
Nice-to-have experience
- Exposure to MLOps or AI platform operations, including model lifecycle, monitoring, and observability.
- Experience with event-driven or distributed systems such as message queues, service buses, or async processing.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments such as financial services or audit.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools including Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
What we are looking for
We are looking for people who can turn ambiguity into practical digital solutions. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about AI-powered products, comfortable working quickly on prototypes, and driven to build client-focused applications that deliver measurable value.
What we offer
- A competitive compensation package with performance-based rewards and recognition.
