- Prepare and submit regulatory reports accurately and on time, while handling queries raised by regulators, auditors, or internal teams.
- Track regulatory developments, keep the Regulatory Obligations Register current, and reflect the latest notifications and requirements.
- Assess how new regulations apply and what they mean for the business, then communicate findings to relevant stakeholders and help with implementation across teams.
- Write and update policies, manuals, and related compliance documentation so they remain current.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and take the lead on improvement projects involving training, process changes, or product changes.
- Spot compliance weaknesses early and drive remediation plans to ensure controls work effectively.
- Organise and securely maintain regulatory correspondence and records in physical and digital formats so information is easy to retrieve and audit-ready; support regulatory audits and inspections.
- Use regulatory filing portals to monitor submissions, deadlines, deliverables, and other filing obligations.
Support to the Compliance Officer
- Assist the India Compliance Officer with internal and external initiatives tied to changing regulations.
- Track compliance risks and KPIs, provide ad hoc support on FinCrime matters, arrange governance and stakeholder review meetings, and keep compliance frameworks and documentation well maintained.
- Help coordinate during internal, external, and regulatory audits, including liaison and follow-up activities.
- Support the rollout of global projects in the Indian context and respond to compliance-related requests from global teams.
- Depending on programme priorities and issue severity, lead or contribute to targeted and thematic compliance reviews.
Qualifications
- 4 to 7 years of experience in regulatory compliance, regulatory reporting, or a similar compliance function, ideally in fintech, payments, cross-border remittance, or financial services.
- Hands-on experience interpreting and monitoring regulatory guidance and requirements.
- Comfortable adapting quickly to a new environment and open to continuous learning.
- Qualified as a CA, CS, MBA in Finance, Law graduate, or hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Strong understanding of India’s regulatory landscape.
- Well-developed organisation and time management abilities.
