Job description

About the company

Pepperstone began in 2010 and operates as a global fintech focused on delivering a better way to trade. The business is digital, agile, connected, and built around curiosity, drive, and a results-oriented mindset. Its culture is diverse, collaborative, and constantly evolving, with more than 700 team members spread across 12 locations and 9 time zones.

Role overview

As a Senior Compliance Analyst, you will support the Compliance function in helping the firm remain aligned with the regulatory requirements of the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), the UAE Capital Market Authority (CMA), UAE legislation, and internal policies. Working alongside the Compliance Manager, you will contribute to the compliance monitoring program, financial crime controls, regulatory reporting, and the upkeep of a strong internal control framework. The position is closely tied to the DFSA and CMA Rulebook, including the General Provisions (GEN), Conduct of Business (COB), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) obligations relevant to the firm’s approved activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out compliance testing and monitoring activity to confirm observance of DFSA/CMA rules, internal procedures, and regulatory obligations.
  • Respond to, or help coordinate responses to, internal queries so compliance issues are resolved and business activities stay within DFSA/CMA Conduct of Business requirements.
  • Support adherence to UAE and international laws, including the preparation and submission of regulatory and audit deliverables on time.
  • Help create, refresh, and maintain internal policies to reflect the DFSA/CMA regulatory landscape.
  • Support reviews of Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and ongoing client monitoring in line with UAE AML requirements.
  • Assist in rolling out transaction monitoring systems.
  • Work with legal, risk, finance, operations, technology, and front-office teams to integrate compliance into strategic initiatives.
  • Help gather information for internal and external dispute matters.
  • Draft and maintain compliance policies and procedures in accordance with DFSA and CMA expectations.
  • Track DFSA/CMA regulatory developments, including consultation papers and notices.
  • Carry out and oversee investigations into unusual activity.
  • Provide daily compliance guidance to internal teams on DFSA/CMA requirements and client-related compliance concerns.
  • Maintain regulatory logs and registers and ensure records meet DFSA and CMA retention obligations.
  • Contribute to assessments of incidents, errors, and breaches, while keeping the required registers up to date.

Candidate profile

You should hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, law, or a related discipline, and bring 3 to 5 years of compliance experience, ideally within DFSA- or CMA-regulated firms. The role calls for a strong working knowledge of UAE financial legislation, experience in retail investments, trading, or retail financial services, and the ability to manage complex compliance matters with sound judgment. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, stakeholder management, and excellent written and verbal communication are essential. You should also demonstrate high ethical standards, integrity, transparency, resilience, adaptability, and an interest in cryptocurrency.

Desirable experience and qualifications

  • Exposure to AML and financial regulation across more than one jurisdiction.
  • Professional qualifications such as ICA, ACAMS, CISI, or equivalent.
  • Native Arabic language skills.

Benefits and perks

  • Competitive compensation package, including a company bonus scheme.
  • Annual salary review.
  • Referral bonuses for introducing strong candidates.
  • A collaborative and friendly working environment.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Option to work remotely from anywhere for up to 6 weeks each year.
  • Continuous learning and personal development opportunities.
  • 3 paid volunteering days annually, plus a workplace giving program.
  • Enhanced sick leave support.
  • 20 days of paid leave in the first year, increasing to 25 days after one year.
  • Monthly and quarterly recognition programs for strong performance.
  • Regular team events and celebrations.
  • Comprehensive medical insurance and the option to join a dental plan.
