Role Overview

The Marketing team at DeepL is instrumental in expanding the brand's global footprint, working closely with Sales, Product, and other departments to communicate compelling stories that resonate worldwide. As a Senior Communications Manager, you will spearhead the global communications function, crafting and executing integrated strategies that strengthen DeepL's brand visibility and media relations across diverse markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive global communications strategies that align with DeepL's goals and brand identity.
  • Establish and nurture strong media relationships, manage press outreach, handle media inquiries, and coordinate interviews across international regions.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to produce thought leadership content, develop executive messaging, and secure speaking engagements to affirm DeepL's industry leadership.
  • Lead crisis communications by developing protocols, acting as a primary contact during sensitive situations, and guiding clear, confident organizational responses.
  • Manage partnerships with PR and communications agencies in various markets ensuring alignment with global strategies while respecting regional nuances.
  • Create and refine high-quality content such as press releases, media briefs, speeches, and bylines for public distribution.
  • Establish key performance indicators for communications activities, monitor results, and provide regular analytical reports to stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, People, Legal, and other teams to ensure cohesive and timely communications.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of seven years in corporate communications, public relations, or similar fields, with experience preferably within global technology or B2B SaaS companies.
  • Proven success in media relations, securing placements in top-tier business and tech publications.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills capable of long-term communications planning combined with meticulous daily execution.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities, adept at creating clear, persuasive narratives tailored for varied audiences.
  • Confidence and presence in engaging with senior leadership and managing stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Experience navigating communications across multiple international markets with appreciation for cultural differences.
  • Crisis management expertise, demonstrating sound judgment during complex or sensitive situations.
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong team orientation and the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
