Senior Business Analyst

Role overview

Within Swiggy, the Analytics team works closely with business leaders to solve challenges across the full operating chain. The team supports areas such as restaurant menu improvement, delivery executive incentives, consumer marketing channel recommendations, and demand forecasting for hyperlocal markets.

Work arrangement: This role requires working from the office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Produce clear, focused, and decision-ready analysis for assigned business problems.
• Turn analytical findings into articles, dashboards, reports, and other formats that support business decisions.
• Plan and execute analytics initiatives that generate insights aligned with business objectives, such as improving order value and conversion rates.
• Define and monitor key performance metrics used to assess business health.
• Develop automated alerting mechanisms so teams can respond early to emerging issues.
• Choose the most relevant metrics and help shape the measurement framework for the assigned business unit.
• Contribute to improving data quality by taking part in data-related work.
• Partner with Business, Product, and Data Engineering teams to strengthen data accuracy through feedback, better instrumentation, and completeness checks.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree is preferred in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline.
• 3.5 to 5 years of practical experience using data analysis tools such as SQL, R, SAS, Python, and Excel.
• Good exposure to R, SAS, QlikView, Google Analytics, and Mixpanel is considered an advantage.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and MySQL, with the ability to write clean and efficient SQL queries.
• Basic understanding of statistics and modelling concepts.
• Experience working with relational databases and business intelligence tools.
