Senior Business Analyst - Finance Transformation

Overview

Our client, a prominent organization in the financial services sector based in Auckland CBD, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to contribute to a significant enterprise transformation program focused on finance. This opportunity spans an initial contract term extending until March 2027.

Role Purpose

Positioned within the CFO function, the role entails examining how comprehensive business transformation impacts finance operations and procedures. Collaboration with Finance subject matter experts, technology teams, and external service partners is essential to analyze current and future processes, document business requirements, and facilitate the successful management of complex changes.

Key focal areas include finance systems, business processes, general ledger functionalities, financial controls and reconciliations, reporting, process analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

Success in this position requires effective cross-functional collaboration, the aptitude to navigate ambiguous scenarios, and the ability to drive outcomes within a challenging program environment.

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants should demonstrate strong experience as a business-focused analyst with a banking or financial services background. Expertise in finance domains such as general ledger, financial controls, reconciliations, or reporting is valued. Candidates must have a track record of working on large transformation projects featuring multiple stakeholders, possessing excellent skills in business process analysis and requirements gathering, and exhibiting confidence in engaging senior stakeholders and delivery teams. A proactive, ownership-driven attitude and the ability to thrive in fast-paced settings are essential. While a foundation in accounting or finance is beneficial, it is not mandatory.
