About the role

In this position, you will take the lead in discovery work and turn complex business needs into data and analytics solutions that can scale. You will partner with stakeholders to shape the product direction, identify data-driven use cases, and help delivery teams convert insights into measurable business outcomes. As part of SoftServe’s global Center of Excellence, you will work with a broad mix of consultants, business analysts, and product specialists who advise Fortune 500 clients and support major digital transformation programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Own business analysis work across data, analytics, AI, and business transformation programs.
  • Lead pre-sales and discovery efforts to uncover client objectives, pain points, stakeholders, workflows, data environment, risks, assumptions, and potential solution paths; facilitate discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements sessions with business and technical participants.
  • Convert business needs into user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria, process diagrams, data requirements, delivery-ready specifications, and AI use case definitions.
  • Set out and document KPIs, metrics, dashboard needs, reporting requirements, data mappings, business rules, data quality expectations, and AI success measures.
  • Work closely with product owners, data engineers, BI developers, architects, QA, and delivery teams to align on scope and execution.
  • Support backlog grooming, prioritization, roadmap planning, UAT, demos, stakeholder approvals, and adoption activities.
  • Review current-state and future-state processes and identify opportunities for data-led and AI-enabled improvement.
  • Keep documentation accurate and organized in Jira, Confluence, Miro, Visio/Lucidchart, or comparable tools.
  • Explain complex data and technology topics in a clear, business-friendly way to stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Manage ambiguity proactively, including risks, dependencies, and changing requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in roles such as Business Analyst, Data Business Analyst, Product Business Analyst, Data Consultant, Analytics Consultant, AI Business Analyst, or a similar position.
  • Background in data, BI, analytics, reporting, data platforms, AI/ML, GenAI, digital transformation, or broader business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong hands-on experience with discovery, requirements gathering, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, process analysis, documentation, UAT, and backlog handling.
  • Proven involvement in presales and discovery work, including client conversations, proposal support, estimation, and defining solution approaches.
  • Ability to structure AI and GenAI use cases by outlining business value, needed data, expected outputs, risks, limitations, and success metrics.
  • Solid understanding of data concepts such as KPIs, dashboards, data flows, data mapping, data quality, data warehouses, and ETL/ELT.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts including machine learning, GenAI, LLM-based assistants, automation, recommendation systems, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business, product, delivery, data engineering, BI, architecture, QA, AI/ML, and sales teams.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, analytical, ownership, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
  • English and German language skills at Upper-Intermediate level or above.
