Role Overview

We are searching for a Senior Business Analyst to join our IT department in Prescot, Liverpool, at an exciting period of commercial growth and transformation. This role is crucial to supporting large-scale, international initiatives focusing on modernization and digital evolution. The position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, with three days in-office and two days remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead analysis on major global change projects, collaborating with business units to define intricate problems and formulate appropriate technological solutions.
• Mentor and support fellow Business Analysts to enhance team capabilities, improve templates, and refine work methodologies.
• Develop strong relationships with senior business leaders, IT business partners, technical delivery teams, and vendors.
• Manage the entire project lifecycle including discovery, conducting workshops, requirements documentation, supporting user acceptance testing, business readiness, and post-implementation activities.

Required Knowledge and Competencies

• Thorough experience with various Business Analysis methodologies and tools applicable to both Agile and Waterfall development frameworks.
• Understanding of full software development lifecycle phases from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Expertise in process modeling, gap analysis, data flow mapping, and recognizing system integration points.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical personnel such as architects, developers, data engineers, and cybersecurity professionals.
• Confident stakeholder engagement to challenge and clarify requirements ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Workshop facilitation and interview skills with the capacity to lead requirement walkthroughs and review sessions.
• Self-driven, proactive attitude with strong ownership and minimal need for supervision.

Experience and Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Business Analyst in IT, digital transformation, or business change projects.
• Proven record of leading discovery sessions with senior stakeholders to explicitly define business challenges and success criteria.
• Hands-on experience delivering end-to-end analysis documentation including user stories, process maps, and coordinating UAT.
• Experience mentoring and developing peers within the analysis team.
• A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory; practical experience is highly valued.
• BCS Business Analysis certifications are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
