Job description
Role overview
In this position, you will act as the key connector between business users, application owners, and engineering teams. The role requires you to investigate current systems, understand how they function, and present that understanding in a way that is useful for both technical specialists and non-technical partners. The work supports major data ingestion and cloud migration initiatives, with a strong focus on preserving data quality, completeness, and correctness.
Key responsibilities
- Review existing platforms in detail, capture how they work, and explain the findings in clear language for different stakeholder groups.
- Work closely with application owners to understand application design, architecture, and the flow of data through the system.
- Prepare detailed mapping and specification documents to support Hadoop ingestion teams across the development process.
- Carry out source-to-target data checks to verify that migrated data remains complete, accurate, and consistent.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to spot issues, close gaps, and improve data handling practices over time.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate should have practical experience with ETL processes in a data warehouse environment, along with direct involvement in cloud migration work, preferably in a large enterprise or similarly complex setting. A solid grasp of RDBMS concepts and SQL is important, as is the ability to analyze information carefully, document it thoroughly, and communicate it effectively. Comfort in discussing requirements and findings with both business and technical audiences is essential.
Preferred exposure
Experience with Hadoop or Azure Cloud is a plus, and familiarity with large-scale data ecosystems or modern data platforms will be advantageous.
