Project Overview
A prominent organization in New Westminster, BC, seeks a seasoned Senior Business Analyst for a four-month contract with potential extension. This role is embedded within the Project Management Office, assisting various simultaneous strategic projects primarily focused on finance and procurement domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business requirements gathering and facilitate workshops with stakeholders to define project goals.
- Develop comprehensive project documents such as business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, use cases, process maps, and data flow diagrams.
- Analyze and document current and future business processes, identifying opportunities for transformation and efficiency gains.
- Support procurement-related projects by assisting in software vendor evaluations, request for proposals, and solution selections.
- Conduct fit-gap analyses and workflow assessments to inform technology recommendations.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and ensure thorough and consistent project documentation.
- Assist in project planning and coordination activities including risk and quality management, financial tracking, scheduling, and reporting.
- Contribute to organizational change management through impact analyses, transition planning, and facilitating stakeholder adoption.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, technical teams, vendors, and business units to deliver outcomes on-time and within budget.
- Provide ongoing analysis and support throughout the full project lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum seven years of business analyst experience on medium to large enterprise technology projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience in finance-related initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, financial and capital planning, procurement, or accounting is a considerable advantage.
- Proven involvement in software procurement projects including RFP development and vendor evaluation is highly valuable.
- Well-versed in business analysis standards and methodologies.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Proficient in creating detailed, precise business and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and organizational competencies in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working within hybrid Agile and Waterfall frameworks is beneficial.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Eligibility to undergo and pass a security clearance is mandatory.
Contract Details
- Duration: Initial 4-month contract with strong possibility of extension.
- Location: New Westminster, BC, hybrid work model requiring 2 to 3 onsite days per week as per project needs.
- Work Hours: Standard business hours, approximately 7.5 hours daily.
- Equipment: Laptop provided by client.
