Job description
About CWILL
CWILL (pronounced "quill") is a comprehensive post-purchase and retention solution designed specifically for Shopify brands. Its tools aim to reduce support inquiries, recover revenue lost through returns, and transform one-time shoppers into dedicated customers by enhancing every interaction following a sale.
Why Join CWILL
- Your creative output will reach millions of shoppers daily via over 30,000 Shopify stores.
- This is a founding design role where you set the visual standards rather than adopting existing ones.
- Work within a small, agile team without bureaucracy and enjoy direct collaboration with leadership.
- The company is profitable and bootstrapped, ensuring financial stability and growth without runway concerns.
Role Overview
We are seeking our inaugural US Brand & Visual Design Lead. This foundational position has accountability for shaping and delivering CWILL’s complete visual identity, affecting everything from the merchant-facing website to in-store Shopify shopper experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and refine CWILL’s brand system, ensuring it remains sharp, coherent, and scalable across all platforms and materials.
- Design and enhance marketing websites, landing pages, and promotional campaign pages with end-to-end responsibility.
- Create consumer-facing UI elements including embedded widgets, in-product overlays, and co-branded experiences within Shopify storefronts.
- Produce visual assets for events, booths, social media, pitch decks, and any other external brand representations.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams during handoff to ensure precise implementation of designs, primarily using Figma.
- Participate in product UI design at the intersection of brand and product, including onboarding workflows, empty states, and notification layouts.
- Maintain and grow a design system that integrates brand and product requirements effectively.
Candidate Requirements
- A compelling portfolio showcasing strong visual design skills spanning web, product UI, and brand systems.
- Proven experience designing consumer-centric components such as landing pages, event assets, widgets, and embedded user interfaces.
- Proficiency in Figma and confidence in delivering designs that can be successfully built and launched.
- At least three years of experience specializing in brand, visual, or marketing website design, preferably within B2B SaaS or direct-to-consumer ecommerce environments.
- Expertise across brand and digital design disciplines including websites, widgets, illustration, and typography.
- Ability to confidently handle projects with high ambiguity and start from conceptual sketches to finished product.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience working within the Shopify ecosystem or related companies such as Klaviyo, Yotpo, Loop, Narvar, AfterShip.
- Experience leading or building design teams, transitioning from individual contributor roles to managerial responsibilities.
- Background knowledge in post-purchase and retention-focused product domains.
- Familiarity with AI-driven native product features.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD 90,000 to 120,000 annually plus potential bonuses, negotiable based on experience.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Paid time off and holidays.
- Health insurance coverage.
