Senior Analyst/Associate - Investment Banking and Advisory

Overview

Maybank Securities is a prominent brokerage and investment banking firm with operations across ASEAN, the UK, and the US. The company delivers a broad range of services including corporate finance and advisory, capital markets transactions involving debt and equity, derivatives trading, brokerage and research services for both retail and institutional investors, and prime brokerage.

The successful candidate will join the regional Investment Banking & Advisory division, supporting corporate clients in achieving their strategic and financial goals. They will be assigned to the Power & Natural Resources sector, handling various products such as public and private debt, equity capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance, and financial advisory assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and deliver presentation materials for client meetings focusing on strategic alternatives, capital market developments, and corporate finance topics.
• Manage execution of transactions from initial pitches through closing, leading workstreams including due diligence and document preparation.
• Develop, analyze, and refine financial models and valuation assessments.
• Engage with clients on market outlooks for equity and debt, and advise on capital structure strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Excellent academic achievements with a degree in Accountancy, Banking, or Finance from a top-tier university.
• A minimum of 2 to 3 years in corporate finance and/or capital markets roles.
• Strong quantitative and technical skills are essential.
• Advanced expertise in corporate finance principles and financial modeling.
• High levels of motivation, creativity, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Effective communication skills, with experience managing multiple tasks and strong time management capabilities.
