Job description
Overview
As a Senior Airport Emergency Officer, your primary responsibility is to save lives and limit property damage during emergencies. You will apply advanced aviation firefighting expertise as part of a specialized team conducting rescue and firefighting operations in response to aircraft incidents or accidents. Your leadership will be crucial in managing firefighting teams, directing command and control at incident sites, and coordinating multi-agency emergency responses. In non-emergency periods, you will drive your unit's strategic direction and oversee the training and development of personnel.
Training Program
- Complete a three-month Basic Airport Fire Fighter training covering firefighting fundamentals and ICAO-compliant techniques for aircraft emergencies.
- Undertake a one-month Airport Fire Officer course to build leadership capabilities for small team tactics.
- Advance through a one-month Senior Airport Fire Officer course focusing on leadership in incident management.
Operational Deployment
After training, you will be based at an airport fire station to apply your skills in real operations. Periodic postings to other airport fire stations or military airbases may be required to broaden your experience and face diverse operational challenges.
