Job description
Role Summary
You will be responsible for managing the entire accounts receivable process, conducting credit analysis, enhancing collection efficiency, regularly reconciling customer accounts, and providing support to the accounts and finance teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the customer account master records.
- Conduct credit evaluations for new and existing customers.
- Collaborate closely with the customer support team to manage credit releases routinely.
- Hold regular meetings with the sales team to discuss collections forecasts and commitments.
- Follow up on collections with both sales teams and customers to ensure timely payments.
- Monitor Bank Guarantees and Letters of Credit (LC).
- Handle banking documentation and liaise with banks as required.
- Ensure compliance with authorization frameworks in coordination with business units.
- Prepare management reports focused on collections performance.
- Obtain periodic balance confirmations from customers.
- Assist in cash management and forecasting collection inflows.
- Oversee end-to-end accounts receivable functions.
- Maintain accounting books and process journal entries, supporting variance analysis.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and review ledgers.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting closures.
- Manage documentation with banks and regulatory bodies.
- Assist the accounts and finance teams with their operational tasks.
- Take on additional or ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Coordinate audit processes by preparing schedules and supporting statutory and group audits.
- Address audit queries to facilitate timely closure.
- Uphold internal controls and adhere to group guidelines.
- Maintain awareness of relevant compliance including Companies Act, GST Act, and Income Tax Act.
- Collaborate with finance colleagues to enhance financial processes and contribute to accounting projects as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in advanced SAP systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Familiarity with Income Tax Act and GST Act regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with invoice management solutions such as Alusta.
- Familiarity with management reporting tools.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting, combined with a minimum of four years’ relevant experience in taxation and accounting. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
