Overview
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preserving precise financial records linked to international trade operations, ensuring adherence to global finance guidelines and optimizing cost-efficiency in trade transactions.
Key Duties
- Maintain detailed financial documentation for international import and export affairs.
- Compile and present financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually for trade activities.
- Oversee reconciliation of bank accounts, trade receivables, and payables.
- Assess profitability, expenditures, and pricing strategies of imported and exported products.
- Ensure full compliance with tax laws related to international trade, including customs duties and VAT.
- Handle customs paperwork and mandatory reports submitted to trade regulatory bodies.
- Stay informed on changing international financial regulations, tariffs, and taxation policies.
- Manage expenses linked to logistics such as freight, insurance, and customs fees.
- Track currency exchange variations and apply risk management measures for foreign exchange.
- Streamline financial workflows to minimize transaction expenses in global trading.
- Process foreign currency transactions in line with banking standards.
- Collaborate with banks on letters of credit, trade financing products, and payment terms.
- Reconcile accounts in foreign currencies ensuring proper use of exchange rates.
- Coordinate with supply chain and purchasing divisions to monitor shipment and financial settlements.
- Verify correct valuation of trade goods for financial reporting purposes.
- Review import/export documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, and customs clearance papers.
- Prepare necessary documentation for audits concerning international trade operations.
- Establish internal controls to mitigate fraud and irregularities within trade dealings.
- Organize and maintain filing systems for invoices, trade contracts, and tax paperwork.
