Senior Accountant

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Abu Dhabi for a seasoned accountant who can oversee the full accounting function across several business entities. The position calls for solid knowledge of UAE accounting regulations, IFRS-based reporting, taxation, and financial planning. Experience in blockchain, digital assets, or tokenized assets is a strong advantage.

Financial Accounting

• Oversee the entire accounting process, from posting transactions to monthly and annual closing.
• Prepare timely and accurate IFRS-compliant financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Carry out reconciliations for banks, customers, vendors, and intercompany balances.
• Manage intercompany accounting and eliminations across multiple entities.
• Ensure records remain aligned with IFRS and UAE statutory requirements.

Tax & Compliance

• Prepare and submit UAE VAT returns through EmaraTax.
• Calculate input VAT and handle tax apportionment.
• Maintain VAT reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Prepare Corporate Tax calculations and filings.
• Complete Corporate Tax registration and ongoing compliance requirements.
• Work closely with auditors and tax consultants.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Create financial models and cash flow projections.
• Analyze variances and explain key differences.
• Support management reporting and wider strategic planning.

Systems & Process

• Run accounting operations using Zoho Books and QuickBooks.
• Improve finance workflows and internal control procedures.
• Contribute to ERP implementation and accounting automation projects.

Payroll & Treasury

• Handle UAE payroll processing and WPS requirements.
• Manage treasury activities.
• Support banking relationships and day-to-day cash management.

Digital Assets

• Assist with accounting for blockchain-related and digital asset transactions.
• Exposure to crypto treasury, tokenized assets (RWA), digital wallets, and Fireblocks is preferred.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce is required.
• Professional credentials such as CA, ACCA, or CPA are preferred.
• 5 to 8+ years of accounting experience is expected.
• Prior accounting experience in the UAE is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with multi-entity accounting is required.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS is essential.
• Experience with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax is needed.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
